States where TwinSpires is live

Colorado

CDI has been in Colorado for a while, operating under the former BetAmerica brand. The company re-introduced itself to the state in April 2025, bringing the TwinSpires online sportsbook to the state along with a retail sportsbook at Bronco Billy’s Casino in Cripple Creek. 

Indiana

TwinSpires purchased Presque Isle Downs horse track in Erie, PA, in January 2019, just four months before the first online sports bet was placed in the state. TwinSpires has had some success in PA, growing steadily as the market matures. 

Tennessee

The Volunteer State has no retail casinos, or horse tracks for that matter, so all the sportsbooks operating in Tennessee are online-only. TwinSpires is based in neighboring Kentucky, so it made sense that the company would expand southward, as it did in January 2025. 

Mississippi

TwinSpires is not available online in Mississippi because the state does not allow online betting. However, Mississippi was one of the first states to legalize retail sports betting, and sports betting operators have set up shop at the state’s many casinos. TwinSpires operates two retail sportsbooks in Mississippi, both of which are located within casinos owned by CDI.  

Browser review

We’ve covered a lot of ground here in our TwinSpires review, but we haven’t talked yet about the actual product you will be using. Is the app and browser version worth your time and money? The answer is yes, you should sign up for TwinSpires. Not just because we recommend it, but because it is a solid product with plenty of promotions and incentives to keep your interest. Let’s start with the browser version of TwinSpires before moving on to the far more popular app version.

The browser is pretty straightforward. Top sports are displayed in a row as buttons across the top of the page. Promos are prominently featured, also in a row across the middle of the page. Below all that are the day’s upcoming events. One mildly irritating part of the layout is the bet slip section that takes up at least a quarter of the home page. Even if the bet slip is empty, it’s still there, cramming the rest of the content and layout into a smaller space. It would be nice if the betslip was hidden until the user clicked on the bets they wanted to make. That is a small nitpick, however. In general, the website is easy to navigate and offers competitive lines and lots of different betting options. 

The prices are competitive on TwinSpires because the company has partnered with Kambi, a leading sportsbook technology provider. Kambi manages the pricing for several prominent sportsbooks, which is good because you can be assured that you are getting some of the best prices in the market, but it’s also not as good because it becomes harder to find value since all the prices are so similar across multiple sportsbooks. 

App review

The TwinSpires mobile sportsbook app is almost exactly the same as the browser version. The only discernible difference is the bet slip conveniently staying out of sight until a wager is made, and then it pops up at the bottom of the phone. Very intuitive. Other than that, it’s all the same. The same promo banners are at the top of the page. The same upcoming events are below, just like on the home page. There is a row of popular options at the bottom of the page that includes live bets, all available sports, upcoming sports, and a betslip. All in all this is a very nice app that has everything you need to bet on sports from the comfort of your couch.
